Everybody has something that chews them up and,  for me, that thing was always loneliness. The cinema has the power to make you not feel lonely, even when you are.

Session Details

How Does

It Work?

Lead by Clare, the group decides what to watch over the next four weeks, usually a film. Each week members share their thoughts, feelings and ideas about the nominated film as well as other things they've watched, which usually leads to some lively discussion. There may also be discussion around actors/actresses, upcoming film & TV etc - the usual stuff you'll find film and TV fans talking about! It's relaxed, informal and the perfect place to unwind and connect midweek. No matter what your favourite genre is, all are welcome!

What do

I Need?

You will need your laptop or mobile device, your session zoom link and a quiet space. Drinks and snacks or your tea if you like too! We will always nominate films that are easily accessible (likely through a streaming service like Netflix) and therefore don't cost a lot to watch.

What Do

I Do?

It's a pretty relaxed session that will likely lead itself according to discussion but Clare will guide as needed too. Obviously this group requires 'homework' in that you need to watch the nominated film in the month between the sessions.

Deb and Clare are the Bee Tree Founders and Co-Directors. Deb has had a long and varied career in health, education and psychotherapy, and is currently studying for her Doctorate. Clare was previously a Nurse and Midwife and is on the brink of qualifying as an Integrative Psychotherapist.

Deb is passionate about 'people power'; bringing people together to help themselves and each other to improve their lives and overall well being. She really enjoys being with people and listening to their fascinating stories about their lives; where they've been, who they've met, what they've done. She is also a very enthusiastic knitter and an avid collector of yarn, arguably an addiction which she struggles to control!

Clare is a lover of good (now vegan!) food, peaceful mornings with a coffee, time spent with her husband Dec, their cats, tortoises and people she loves and stories of all kinds. Harry Potter, Pokémon, Disney and musicals are just some of the stories she's loved since she was little! She is passionate about social justice and doing her part where she can to make this world a better, fairer and more compassionate place. Bee Tree is the culmination of much of Clare's combined personal and professional experience and she feels it's benefits just as much as Bee Tree members do.
