Group

Session Brief

This group is exactly what it says on the tin! This is a group for our members who are over 60 to meet, chat, listen and sometimes do quizzes and other activities together too, sharing stories and memories that all of them hold dear. We also have speakers who come in and chat with the group and are open to all suggestions made by members to develop this session. It’s a truly lovely group and one that welcomes new friends all the time. Deb and our members really do make sure that conversation is always flowing and everyone is included. If you enjoy this session you may enjoy our Knit & Natter with Deb too.

Session Details

How Does

It Work?

Sometimes members bring something to share and to talk about; an object, a photo, a poem, the story of a life event, a piece of artwork or music, a newspaper article, etc. anything at all. Other times we have a quiz. Deb/Clare creates a safe space in which members can chat together about anything at all.

What do

I Need?

Just yourself, your Zoom link (found in your profile and emails), your chosen device to log in with and anything you fancy bringing with you! The symbol of this group is a drink for a reason - don't forget the all important brew!

What Do

I Do?

Deb/Clare will lead the session, so you get to just be there and relax, and to talk as much or as little as you like (and don't forget your object if you want to share.)

Deb and Clare are the Bee Tree Founders and Co-Directors. Deb has had a long and varied career in health, education and psychotherapy, and is currently studying for her Doctorate. Clare was previously a Nurse and Midwife and is on the brink of qualifying as an Integrative Psychotherapist.

Deb is passionate about 'people power'; bringing people together to help themselves and each other to improve their lives and overall well being. She really enjoys being with people and listening to their fascinating stories about their lives; where they've been, who they've met, what they've done. She is also a very enthusiastic knitter and an avid collector of yarn, arguably an addiction which she struggles to control!

Clare is a lover of good (now vegan!) food, peaceful mornings with a coffee, time spent with her husband Dec, their cats, tortoises and people she loves and stories of all kinds. Harry Potter, Pokémon, Disney and musicals are just some of the stories she's loved since she was little! She is passionate about social justice and doing her part where she can to make this world a better, fairer and more compassionate place. Bee Tree is the culmination of much of Clare's combined personal and professional experience and she feels it's benefits just as much as Bee Tree members do.

You'll also find Deb & Clare hosting our Knit & Natter, Film & TV Club, Languages Café , Craft ClubWordplay, Music Appreciation Club and Creative Writing sessions.
