Debbie Bentley:
Maintains The Hive

Debbie Bentley is the Founder and Co-Director of Bee Tree. She lives very happily on the Fylde Coast with her family. She has had a long and varied career in health, education and psychotherapy, and is currently studying for her Doctorate.

Deb is passionate about 'people power'; bringing people together to help themselves and each other to improve their lives and overall well being. She really enjoys being with people and listening to their fascinating stories about their lives; where they've been, who they've met, what they've done. She is also a very enthusiastic gardener and knitter and an avid collector of yarn, arguably an addiction which she struggles to control!

In addition to hosting and being present across many sessions, Debbie's role involves all things wordy and business related at Bee Tree to keep our community running well. She networks, dreams big and keeps the creative energy flowing to ensure Bee Tree keeps on growing. She is an absolute force of nature who works so hard to make sure that her idea of an online community centre becomes a truly successful reality, helping not only those she loves but people she has yet to meet too. Her favourite groups are Knit & Natter, Creative Writing and Gardening.

Clare Watson is a Co-Founder and Co-Director of Bee Tree. She has a background in hospice nursing, midwifery and is an Integrative Psychotherapist working from her home office in Prescot in addition to her work for Bee Tree.

Clare is a lover of good (now vegan!) food, peaceful mornings with a coffee, time spent with her husband Dec, their cats and tortoises and people she loves and stories of all kinds. Harry Potter, Pokémon, Disney and musicals are just some of the stories she's loved since she was little! She is passionate about social justice and doing her part where she can to make this world a better, fairer and more compassionate place. Bee Tree is the culmination of much of Clare's combined personal and professional experience and she feels its benefits just as much as Bee Tree members do.

Clare's role involves designing/developing all things visual/technical at Bee Tree, partnering with Debbie early on to take her idea, work on it together and then give it a visual identity. She works on our social media, website, marketing/marketing materials and networks accordingly to spread the word about Bee Tree. With Debbie she hosts and is present in many sessions and also communicates with members and hosts as our first line tech support/customer service. Her favourite groups are Bingo & Quiz Night, Wordplay and Film & TV Club.

Our Worker Bees Declan Watson & Drew Bentley

Dec is Clare's husband and was on board with Bee Tree right from the start. IT/all things computers is what he is brilliant at and he created Bee Tree a structure for use in its early days using Google Forms and worked with us to maintain it/tweak it as needed. He is also trained in general data protection regulations as part of his job role so was able to advise us when it came to this.

Drew is Debbie's son and he came on board as he has experience in creating his own website. He kindly created our website's structure and initial design in his free time (which was painstaking!) and transferred our system from Google Forms so that it could be automated on our website. Dec was then able to create a mobile site for phone/tablet users.

Both Drew and Dec have taught Clare how to design and manage the website so she has been able to take it and gradually develop it further in response to member suggestions/troubleshooting and as Bee Tree grows. Clare is our first line tech support, but Dec and Drew are always on hand for anything that she doesn't know.

Without the support of these guys it would be an awful lot harder to fuel Bee Tree everyday and we're so very lucky and grateful to have them supporting us as they do. Bee Tree simply wouldn't be Bee Tree without them. Thank you xxx

The Bee Tree Community currently relies on our wonderful hosts who are happy to donate their time and energy to host sessions on our timetable.

In return we can support them and their small businesses, promoting them to our members and giving them a free platform to advertise to our ever growing community.

We can also accommodate paid courses that they can run and earn extra income from too.
