Session Brief

Mindfulness is a way of calming the mind and creating a sense of peacefulness. Practising Mindfulness helps us be in the moment, to focus on enjoying what we are doing without our minds throwing in random thoughts and feelings. Mindfulness sessions are currently on hold while we search for a new host, they will resume soon!

Session Details

How Does

It Work?

The host begins the session with a check in. They then use a series of questions designed to encourage members to take this time to focus on themselves; who they are, how they are, ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. They encourage the use of journalling as part of an onging exploration of the self. Members are welcome to share as much or as little as they feel like. In the final part of the session the host will lead members through a mindfulness exercise.

What do

I Need?

For the session you will need your laptop or mobile device and session zoom link, a quiet uninterrupted space to sit or lie down, and a notepad and pen.

What Do

I Do?

The host will lead the session, so you get to just be there and relax and think about yourself, to explore your thoughts and feelings and share if you want to. For the mindfulnness exercise the host will ask you to turn off the camera and microphone on your computer (this means you can hear them but no-one can hear or see you.) You will then get yourself comfortable, and listen to the host as they talk you through a short relaxation. You may even fall asleep!
